Shanks vs Luffy who is more powerful?
So, we will se all the facts of power differences between shanks and luffy gear fifth.Shanks Vs Gear Fifth Monkey D. Luffy
So we know that shanks is a mysterious character and we have never explored and seen his true powers so the opinion here is not valid fully but i wll put all the facts about Shanks Power and Potential.
HAKI
Haki is most important factor for difference because it is a major power system in One Piece anime/manga so as we know that both shanks and luffy has Haki Of The Supreme King but but there is one thing that luffy has that Ryuo Haki that was taught by Dark King Silvers Rayleigh and Hyoguro Boss to luffy and by the this Haki technique he fought kaido toe to toe but that does not mean that shanks does not know how to use because Rayleigh could also do it, lets put it aside and give the Ryuo Haki power credit to Luffy but Shanks is older then luffy and so his haki would be more powerful then luffy even in comparison of Conquerors Haki because Rayleigh said to luffy that you haki would be more powerful by the time and use.
Devil Fruit
It goes to luffy and if shanks has more experience and powerful haki but shanks does not have devil fruit and major thing his Gear 5 you don't know the real potential of it if didn't have read the manga, so i will tell you (ahead is spoilers) luffy can use his devil fruit awakening in gear five that he can make ground to rubber means if he is hitten by a big attack he will be safe in gear 5 because he can make ground to rubber as ge touch it so he would not get any damage from the ground and yes he touch anything becomes rubber even his opponent, he used a thunder ⚡ touching it from the clouds and made it rubber so its ineffective to him and shotted to kaido in a form of real thunder basically gear fifth is a great advantage.
Strength
So in the terms of strength the one who have better haki development and experience would have greater strength and shanks have greater strength in terms of body also because he is more older and trained pirate and he became the emperor 6 years ago already but Gear 5 luffy may have the advantage due to his increased strength and new abilities. So they would have equal terms of strength or in my opinion shanks would be powerful because luffy get fastly exhausted because of gear five.
Durability
Luffy in his Gear Fifth form is considered to be greatly enhanced due to his enhanced physical strength and the extra haki he uses to defend himself. This allows him to withstand even greater amounts of damage and take more powerful attacks, but luffy exhaust fastly because of Gear five and shanks have amazing conquerors haki defence, so in terms of durability i would say Shanks can have upper hand.
Final Opinion
If we consider the current powers and abilities of both characters, it can be difficult to determine a clear winner. However, Gear 5 Luffy may have the advantage due to his increased strength and new abilities.
Ultimately, the outcome of a hypothetical battle between the two characters would likely depend on various factors, such as the location, the context of the fight, and the state of mind of both characters and i would say that Shanks would have upper hand in terms of strength and durability.
Anything could happen and we have not even get to see real power potential of Shanks.
